Questionnaire Responses

Fairer Funding for Warrington Schools

We will be sending out a petition later in the week asking for you to help with an issue that has a big impact on your children. As it stands there is a wide variance in the amount of money schools get for each pupil. Warrington is the 10th lowest funded authority in England, our funding is 11% below the average and 51% below the highest. In real terms, if we received the average amount we would have approximately £81,000 more in our budget to spend on the children. If we were the highest funded this would become approximately £400,000. So there are schools in England, the same size as Bradshaw, that are receiving that much more just because of where they are.

Therefore we need you support to ensure that the pledge given by the government before the election, to ensure that there is a fairer funding system, is carried out.  Please look out for the letter later this week and get as many signatures to support the campaign as possible.

Year 4 & 5 at the Pyramid Centre

The children from Year 4 & 5 are at the Pyramid Centre for a concert performed by the tutors who will be teaching them the trumpet and guitar this year.

Leavers’ Assembly

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as our wonderful Year 6 held their Leavers’ Assembly. It was a mixture of humour, poinency, remembering and looking forward. Well done to all of them and good luck for the future.

My time at Bradshaw

I started Bradshaw in year 2 and since then I have enjoyed the all time I’ve been here. I’ve made lots of new friends and I will miss all of my friends at here. I have experienced lots of  things that I thought I couldn’t do or see. I would like to say thank you to the ones that have helped me to be who I am.  I’ve done many different sports here like cricket, football and netball and been in many different tournaments and I am proud of what I’ve achieved .

My life at bradshaw

On my first day in Reception I met Jacob and Poppy (Bobby had not started).  In Yr 1 I had Miss Corrigan  and me and Bobby became best mates and still are. Yr 2 was sooo fun as Mrs Clarke was extremely  nice. In Yr 3 we had Mr Bickerstaff and Mrs Wilson, and we went on a lot of trips. In Yr 4 we had Miss Corrigan, and I had a lot of fun. Yr 5 we had Mr Bickerstaff again, and he made a lot of things fun. Now in yr 6 we have had loads of fun, and even SATs were easy , and it helps if you try hard.

My time at Bradshaw!

My time at Bradshaw has been very enjoyable. I can remember meeting my best mate Jacob and he is still my best friend now. When we moved in to key stage 2 we got a new Headteacher because Mr Whimpeny, the deputy head retired and Mr Plant, the Headteacher, retired at the same time. When our new Headteacher Mr Short came in, he set up the blog. Also when we started year 3 we had our first ever male teacher Mr Bickerstaff which was also exciting. In year 4 we we went to Fox Howl and it was the first ever time we had gone away with our class and it was brilliant. In year 5 we had Mr Bickerstaff again and we went to Liverpool for a trip which was fun. After it was year 6 and we had SATS, but don’t worry, they are easier than you think. Then came PGL, which was  amazing, especially the giant swing, which I would recommend!

My time at Bradshaw

My time at Bradshaw has been great as we have done loads of fun activities and a few famous  people have come. I have been at this school for 7 whole years and every year has been great especially when we got our buddies as we got to meet them and take them down for lunch. Also when I met Jordan in  Reception we were best mates until I met Callum and Taylor. In year three we always  played tag. Mr Bickerstaff was our teacher in year three, and the best thing probably was when we made potions. In year 4 Miss Corrigan taught us, and we went to Fox Howl which was good. In year 6 we got to do lots of jobs, like house point collectors and house captains and also you get privilege cards which means you get to pick one person to sit with you on the sofa.
